D. Luis Filipe Bridge
Séc. XIX
It connects the two river banks and it has been the main crossing of the Cávado River for more than a century. The bridge is dated to the late 19th century, more precisely in 1892. It is a typical bridge of its time with a metallic deck, supported on granite structures, lined up throughout the watercourse. This elegant iron architecture was designed by the engineer Abel Maria Mota. This model of the Industrial Architectural heritage has been classified as Property of Public Interest since January 1986 by the governmental decree no. 1 of January 3rd, 1986.
