EXHIBITION ‘BETWEEN SILENCE AND LIGHT’
CIT in Esposende hosts Sónia Miranda's exhibition "Between Silence and Light"
‘Between Silence and Light’ is the title of the exhibition by Sónia Miranda, which will be on display at the Tourist Information Centre (CIT) in Esposende between 4 and 31 October.
The exhibition includes a collection of artistic works, including paintings, sculptures and images, which the author created over three years of study, research and experimentation in the field of fine arts. Born in the parish of Forjães, Sónia Miranda has a degree in Fine Arts and Artistic Technologies from the Higher School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo (IPVC).
One of the themes that runs through a significant part of the works presented is the relationship with nature and its life cycles, as well as the emergence of an aesthetic and critical awareness of the contemporary world. The works thus propose a journey between silence – understood as a place of listening and contemplation – and light – as presence, revelation and manifestation of the visible. Ceramics, glass, layers of paint, plaster and wood invite active contemplation, a meditative gaze.
The exhibition will open next Saturday, 4 October, at 3.30 pm, and can be visited during the CIT's normal opening hours, i.e. Monday to Saturday, between 9 am and 5 pm.
This activity is part of the Action Plan for Sustainability, Growth and Competitiveness of Tourism in Esposende – 2023–2027 and falls within the scope of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN's 2030 Agenda.
