SARGASSUM PROJECT
Integrated into “March with Flavours of the Sea,” the “Sargassum Project” presents, on March 14, a diverse and enriching program of activities. The Sargaço Museum, located in Apúlia, will serve as the hub for several initiatives closely linked to the culture of sargassum harvesting.
This expedition will have several stops, taking us on a journey through the depths of memory, art, science, and of course gastronomy as well! Between knowledge and flavours, we anticipate unique emotions with a taste of the past, always with the sea in sight…

SAVING THE PLANET AT THE TABLE
Don't like fish? Roe way!
Once again, Chef Emídio Concha de Almeida will prepare various delicacies from the sea bream caught off our coast, following the basic principles of ‘Zero Waste’ and ‘Zero km’. In this challenge, the bones and heads of the sea bream will be the raw material for delicious, long-simmered broths, while the roe will be used to make an excellent açorda (bread soup).

ESPOSENDE COMEDY SESSIONS
Comedians: Emanuel Moura and Tomás Matos + Guests and Open Mics
Synopsis: Esposende Comedy Sessions returns for a new season in 2026 and will feature four shows at the Municipal Auditorium of Esposende between April and August.
The comedy nights with unlikely hosts, established comedians and rising talents are back in Esposende.
The first show of the season takes place on April 9 and will feature performances by Emanuel Moura and Tomás Matos, as well as open mics and guest comedians.
Presentation: Emanuel Moura is a Portuguese singer, comedian and radio host, recognized for bringing traditional fado into an irreverent and upbeat style, where storytelling, comic timing and strong audience interaction are the trademarks of his performances. He is the author of the trilogy “Fado Mal Criado” (2016, 2018, 2023), has performed at the Coliseu do Porto AGEAS, at MEO Marés Vivas, and on international stages such as France, China, Switzerland and the USA. The show is light, participatory and full of rhythm — where the audience plays a central role.
Tomás Matos is a stand-up comedian based in Porto. He is one of the youngest promising names in Portuguese comedy and, in the words of his own grandmother, “a fine young lad.” He has been a regular presence in Porto’s stand-up circuit, having already performed at notable events such as Porto Comedy Fest, Festival Rir na Ria and Queima das Fitas do Porto — the latter both as an artist and as a consumer. His style of humour is quite versatile, covering a wide range of formats from storytelling to nonsense, one-liners, and observational everyday humour.
