Integrated into the municipality's Christmas program, the “ESlocal Christmas Market” will take place from December 12 to 24, at Esposende Riverside Area.

The market will feature a diverse range of local crafts and will bring together around 20 local exhibitors, promoting the talent and creativity of artisans from the region.

It will be an opportunity to purchase unique gifts (handmade candles, jewellery, crochet dolls, wooden pieces, costume jewellery and many other original items) while directly supporting Esposende’s creators.

Inside the “ESlocal Christmas Market” tent, visitors will enjoy a setting inspired by the magic of the season, with themed decorations and creative painting and writing workshops, designed to provide fun family moments and create special memories.

Sustainability once again plays a central role in the event. In partnership with the Portuguese Association of Parents and Friends of Mentally Disabled Citizens (APPACDM), the “ESlocal” paper shopping bags will be customized by users of the Esposende Complex, reinforcing the importance of creativity and environmental responsibility. In addition, for the second consecutive year, the traditional Christmas tree will be replaced by invasive woody species such as hakeas and acacias, in an environmental awareness initiative titled “My Christmas tree is invasive and sustainable.” These species will be decorated by artisans and the public.

With this initiative, the Municipality aims to make the “ESlocal Christmas Market” not only a place for commerce but also a complete Christmas experience that combines tradition, creativity, and sustainability.

The ESlocal Christmas Market will be open on Saturdays and holidays from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.; on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; from Monday to Thursday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.; and on Fridays from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. On December 24, the market will only be open in the morning.
