This exhibition, on display at the Esposende Municipal Museum, is part of the celebrations of the Municipal Museum's 30th anniversary and recreates the atmosphere that existed around a century ago in this space of the old Theatre-Club building, where the Espozendense Assembly met, a select group of Esposendenses, formally constituted, with defined statutes, who got together for recreational and leisure purposes.

Through the wide range of objects and pieces on display, visitors will be able to understand what life was like in the Sala dos Azulejos, with mannequins dressed to the nines, its century-old piano and snooker, as well as other furniture and various artefacts, such as grafonolas, crockery, walking sticks, bowler hats and top hats, women's artefacts, documents and newspapers from the time.

After two editions warmly received by the public, ‘Folclore na Praça’ returns for its 3rd edition, invading the city streets and Largo Dr. Fonseca Lima with colour, joy and tradition. The dances and songs of the ethnographic groups from the municipality of Esposende are performed on Tuesday evenings, promising to challenge the public to interact and be part of the show.

The main aim of the "Summer by Your Hand" initiative is to promote handicrafts and endogenous agri-food products in the module located in Esposende's riverside area.

Part of the ESlocal programme, the aim is to give visibility to "our" creativity between June and September, the months with the highest influx of visitors.

From 13 to 19 August, another joint fair will also be held on the Esposende riverfront, with the participation of various exhibitors with woodwork, embroidery, crochet, macramé, fabric painting, cold porcelain articles, candles, recycled articles and handmade jewellery, among others.

The São Tiago Day celebrations are organized by the Municipality of Esposende, in partnership with the Via Veteris Association and the Marinhas Delegation of the Portuguese Red Cross.

The specific program includes a walk between Fonte Boa and Castelo de Neiva on Saturday, July 27th, which is a free activity open to all interested participants, with prior registration required by July 24th.

Additionally, on July 25th, São Tiago Day, a series of activities will take place, including a free snack/dinner at the São Miguel de Marinhas Hostel. Registration for the walk is also free, including insurance and transportation from the meeting point in Castelo de Neiva to Fonte Boa.

“Emotions” is a show that explores the complexity of human feelings. The protagonist, after a traumatic experience, sees the world in grey, devoid of colour, and becomes unable to connect with others. Embarking on a journey of self-discovery that takes him through a spectrum of emotions, he finally rediscovers the fullness of human life.

Esposende hosts another edition of the International Folklore Festival, bringing to the mouth of the Cávado River some of the most prominent ethnographic groups from Croatia, Spain, Mexico, Panama, Kenya, Serbia, and Portugal. This showcase of arts and traditions from around the world is the result of a partnership between the Municipality of Esposende and the Grupo Associativo de Divulgação Tradicional de Forjães. Before the main evening spectacle, the groups will parade through the streets and squares of the city in the afternoon, where the essence of their colors, rhythms, and traditions promises to immerse the community and tourists in the typical festive atmosphere of ethnographic celebration.

The program, woven with delicate threads of sound, sketches a narrative that transcends temporal and stylistic boundaries. The concert unfolds with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's profound and moving composition, the "Adagio and Fugue". In this opening moment, an atmosphere of contemplation and drama is established, weaving the audience through intricate emotional pathways. The musical landscape transforms as Luigi Boccherini takes the stage, presenting his "Musica notturna delle strade di Madrid, Opus 30 No. 6". This work transports listeners to the nighttime streets of the Spanish capital, full of vivacity and pulsating atmosphere. The pinnacle of the evening is revealed with Boccherini's "Cello Concerto No. 3 in G Major".

BOCA DE CENA – Children and Youth Theater Company

"A Moira and the Bard" delves into the legend of the Moiras, Portuguese fairies whose belief is said to have been brought by the Celts, and into the musicality of the poetry of the bards, Celtic poets who extolled the valor of heroes. Purposefully set against the ambiance of Castro de S. Lourenço, the collective dramaturgy of the actors and director from Boca de Cena - Children and Youth Theater Company of Esposende, contemplates an ode to the delightful poetry of António Correia de Oliveira, from the book "The Soul of the Trees", intertwined with legends such as the Legend of the Morena and the Legend of D. Croio, which, like a centuries-old tree, inspire the creation of eternal roots in the municipality of Esposende.

"A Moira and the Bard" premieres in a unique performance and immersive format, where the audience can join the cast to dramatize the arrival of the Celts at the Castro, the release of the Moiras in the forest, and the eternalization of the bard's poetry in every root, every trunk, every shadow, in a hymn to the soul of the trees, a troubadour's love between the Moira and the Bard.
