Barca do Lago is the expression of the latest use of this part of the river. Before the road bridge over the Cávado River, the passage was done on a small river crossing boat with no charge, where, according to tradition, boatmen would perform their work "for God". However, today, this Cávado "lake" has other utilities.

The amenity of the site, the calm waters, the sun, the fauna, and flora, all this makes this place one of the most attractive places of the municipality of Esposende. It attracts many people to enjoy the freshness of the banks or to practice waters sports such as canoeing.
