Esposende Museum

The Esposende Municipal Museum is tasked with acquiring, researching, and primarily exhibiting and preserving the historical, cultural, ethnographic, artistic, and natural heritage of the municipality of Esposende for purposes of study, education, and public enjoyment. It aims to be a resource for the construction and dissemination of the cultural and artistic identity of the municipality through knowledge, memory, identity, and heritage.
The Esposende Municipal Museum regularly organises temporary exhibitions on a variety of themes and content, as well as art exhibitions and various publications.
This facility is housed in the former TEATRO-CLUB building of Esposende (1911), designed by Miguel Ventura Terra (1866–1919), one of the most prominent architects of the period in Portugal. After refurbishment works by architect Bernardo Ferrão (1945–2006), it reopened to the public as the Municipal Museum in 1993.
